The FPD device (Lifeboat Fall Prevention Device) is a safety equipment consisting of a 12-strand HMPE braided rope and shackles at both ends. It creates a safe and stable connection between the lifeboat and the davit during the lifeboat’s deployment from the ship’s deck, preventing accidental falls due to human error or mechanical failure.
